Welcome to MBA

Memphis Bass Association was formed in 1986. Its original name was the Fed Ex Bass Association, started by Fed Ex employees. As years went on, more fishermen who were not employed by Fed Ex joined the bass club. Since the club now is no longer affiliated with Fed Ex, the name was changed. The name change is due to insurance and liability purposes only.

MBA has 8 tournaments per year. The season starts in March and ends in September. We do not fish during the months of July and August (due to the extreme heat). The bass club has a final two-day fishing classic tournament in October. Each boat consists of a boater and a non-boater team, and members are allowed to choose their own teammates. We also have 2 Federated Charter affiliated with the Tennessee Bass Federation.  With 2 charters, this permits us to send 2 six men teams to the State Federation Tournament, each year. Membership in the Federation Chapters is optional.

Our Memphis bass club meets the Tuesday before each tournament at 7 pm. Except for non-tournament months; then we meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held at Bass Pro Shops.
